Columbia police arrest man accused of having a gun and PCP

UPDATE: According to the probable cause statement, Griffith is a gang member and was hanging around a school and park.

Griffith has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Dushane Griffith on Sunday evening after officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the area of Sheppard Park.

Police said officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle on Audubon and Mallard Court.

Officers said they searched Griffith and the surrounding area and found a gun and a prescription bottle with what officers believed to be PCP inside. The prescription bottle had Griffith’s name on it, police said.

Griffith was arrested and faces possible charges of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful for certain persons to possesses concealed weapon and unlawful use of weapons.
