Police investigate attempted armed robbery at liquor store

Columbia police say a man is on the run after attempting to rob a liquor store.

Police say it happened around 11 p.m. Sunday at the Dash Liquor store in the 2100 block of Paris Road.

Police say a man came into the store wearing a mask and carrying a backpack. Police say the man showed a gun to the clerk and demanded money.

The man ultimately left the store without money or merchandise. No one was injured during the attempted robbery.

According to dispatch records, police have been called to the Dash Liquor store 16 times in the last year, including once for a shots fired call in July.
