Widespread freeze this weekend

TODAY: Skies will become mostly sunny but it will still be chilly with afternoon high temperatures staying in the mid to upper 40s. Winds will remain out of the northwest at 8-11 mph, keeping our wind chill values in the 30s throughout the better part of the day.

TONIGHT: We’ll have a hard freeze tonight as temperatures drop to the freezing mark by midnight, producing a widespread frost. There is a Freeze Warning from 10 PM tonight to 9 AM Sunday morning. Low temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 20s by early Sunday morning with light winds under 5 mph.

EXTENDED: After a cold start, we’ll warm a few more degrees Sunday, reaching the mid 50s with afternoon clouds. Another cold front moves in Monday bringing a slight chance of showers and another surge of cooler air. This will keep us in the lower 50s Monday and only in the mid to upper 40s for Halloween. We are watching for the possibility of showers Tuesday night after 7 PM into Wednesday morning as moisture moves in from the southwest. There is still some uncertainty on how far north the rain will develop and we will have updates and more details as new data comes in.
