Tracking overnight below freezing temperatures with more rain ahead
Tonight: Winds remain out of the northwest at 8-12 mph leading to cooler overnight temperatures. A freeze warning is in effect for all of Central Missouri until 9 AM Tuesday morning. The overnight low cools to the lower '30s south of Columbia with areas to the north of Boone county falling into the upper '20s.
Tomorrow: Skies begin mostly clear into the early morning hours before cloud cover begins to push in from the west during the afternoon hours. Winds switch out of the northwest to the southwest by late afternoon as the high tops out into the mid-'50s.
Extended: Overnight scattered showers begin to form Tuesday night before becoming widespread by Wednesday morning making for a wet commute. Temperatures continue to rise throughout the duration of the week into the weekend as chances of showers and storms stay with Mid-Missouri. By Friday, highs will reach around 80 degrees.
