Phelps County man charged with drug trafficking after officers find 2 pounds of methamphetamine

The Phelps County Sheriffs Department arrested Jason Kimmel, 38, after deputies assisted in a short- term narcotics investigation.

As a result of the investigation, officers were able to obtain a search warrant in the 200 block of East Second Street in Newburg, deputies said.

During the search, deputies found approximately 2 pounds of methamphetamine, they said.

On Thursday, Kimmel was charged with drug trafficking in connection to the investigation.

Kimmel is currently in the Phelps County Jail with a bond set at $250,000.
