Residents of Clark Lane community react to home invasion robbery
One resident of Creekwood Estates in Columbia answered his door Wednesday night to find two men who then forcibly entered his home.
According to police, the two men said they had a gun, and took “several items” from the home before leaving the area. No one was injured, and no other property was damaged.
Police describe the suspects as two black males, “one being taller than the other.”
Many residents of Creekwood told ABC 17 they were surprised to hear a robbery had happened in their neighborhood. It’s the first robbery the community has seen this year, according to Columbia Police dispatch records.
“We do have police protection… They just drive through here,” said one resident. Every resident that ABC 17 spoke to said they feel safe in the the community, which is regularly patrolled by staff and Columbia Police officers.
Wednesday morning, less than a mile away from Creekwood Estates, shots were fired outside a Casey’s General Store on Clark lane. It was the first time police were called to that Casey’s for a gun-related incident.
