JC Schools board to finalize bus routes, discuss transportation contract
The Jefferson City School District board is scheduled to finalize the school bus route changes that were implemented at the beginning of the 2019/2020 school year.
District spokesperson Ryan Burns told ABC 17 News Monday that the board’s signoff typically occurs several weeks into a semester to make sure any problems are identified.
Also on Monday night’s agenda is the renewal of the district’s contract with D&K Bus Company, the contractor that shuttles students to the Nichols Career Center.
D&K, which also handles the transportation services for the Blair Oaks R-2 School District, will transport students from not only from that district but also from Calvary Lutheran High School and Helias High School under the new contract.
First Student handles the bulk of JC Schools’ transportation.
