Highway 63 to temporarily close for repairs after power line down at the intersection of Highway 63 and Route B

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE: Columbia Water and Light said Thursday morning that the repairs to the power line have been finished.

ORIGINAL: Crews with the City of Columbia Water & Light are repairing a downed power line that failed midspan and fell at the intersection of Route B and Highway 63 closing some of the ramps.

The ramps will remain closed until the line can be de-energized and safely removed from the pavement.

Once all equipment and materials are in place to complete the necessary repairs, Highway 63 will be temporarily closed at that time.

This closure is being coordinated with the Missouri Department of Transportation, and a detour route is being established to move traffic away from the area.

We do not anticipate that the repairs will lead to any power outages.
