Easter dinner will cost more this Sunday

Whether they stay home or go out to eat on Easter Sunday, consumers are going to see higher prices.
The USDA's Consumer Price Index CPI, which represents changes in prices of basic goods, shows most items are expected to increase more than the average amount.
Food prepared at home would be expected to rise about 2%, but instead is going up 3 to 4 %. Meats, which increase by 3.2% on average, might increase by 4%. Eggs will be up 2.5% to 3.5%, dairy will rise as much as 5% and sugars and sweets will go up 3% to 4%.
The average cost of dining out typically increases 2.9% each year, but this year consumers can expect to see a 5.5 to 6.5% increase in the cost of dining out.
