Deputies arrest two after three burglaries in Cole County

Cole County deputies responded to the call of a neighbor in the area of the 6700 block of Loesch Road Monday afternoon.

The deputies were investigating a reported burglary, the suspects of which were described by the neighbor as “a white male and white female in the area.”

Deputies say they stopped a vehicle carrying subjects that matched the description in the 5700 block of Loesch Road.

Cole County Sheriff John Wheeler said that during the traffic stop, deputies were able to recover stolen items that implicated the two suspects in the Loesch Road burglary as well as two others; One in the 5500 block of Buffalo Road at 5:06 p.m., and the other in the 5200
block of Route D at 5:13 p.m.

“[The arrests] also led to more stolen property seized, three cars impounded and one search warrant served in the 3200 block of Cassidy Road,” said Wheeler. “The quick results of this case thus far are due to the cooperation with the citizens of Cole County and great law enforcement work on behalf of the Cole County Sheriff’s Department.”

Wheeler said this is an active case and the investigation continues.
