Texas man charged with deceptive business practices in Miller County
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Missouri Attorney General’s Office is charging a Texas man with deceptive businesses practices after he allegedly took money from customers without giving anything in return.
Assistant Attorney General Wade Schilling is charging Lance Mickey with four counts of deceptive business practices.
According to court documents, Mickey owned several businesses including real estate and contracting companies and around the second week of December 2020, he closed his businesses and left the state.
According to court documents, four victims came forward and allege that from August 2020 to December 2020, Mickey allegedly stole over $16,000 from them. In one case he's accused of taking more than $11,000 from a Waynesville couple without doing any work.
Mickey is scheduled to be arraigned on May 11. According to online court records, Mickey does not have an attorney currently.
