Woman gets probation for hindering the prosecution of a felony after shooting in February

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A woman who pleaded guilty to hindering the prosecution of a felony was sentenced to 5 years probation.

Gracie Avery was originally charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Joseph Taylor on Doris Drive in February.

Avery admitted to setting up a drug deal for Taylor and another man, which ultimately ended in Taylor's death.

She was originally charged with second-degree murder but the charges were later down-graded to holding back the prosecution.
