Columbia man accused of burglary, child endangerment, domestic assault

Columbia Police responded to the 700 block of Spencer Avenue for a reported burglary just after 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Officers interviewed the alleged victim who they learned was related to the suspect, Dametrius Ware.

According to the police report, the victim heard a knock at the door and when she answered it, Ware kicked-in the door, damaging the frame and knocking over the victim and a stroller containing her 6-month-old baby.

The victim also told police that Ware was pointing a gun at her.

Just after 10 p.m. Monday, Ware was arrested by Columbia police officers in the 3300 block of Brampton Court on suspicion of armed criminal action, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree domestic assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree property damage and for unlawfully possessing a concealed weapon.
