Wounded boy, 9, is latest St. Louis gun violence victim
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A 9-year-old boy has been wounded in St. Louis as gun violence continues to extract a heavy toll on the city’s youth. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the boy was struck in the thigh Friday afternoon during a shooting in which a man in his 20s received a graze wound to his head. Few details have been released. In March alone, there have been three fatal shootings involving children 16 or younger, and additional incidents in which youths were wounded.
