Another hot day, but mild weather to arrive by mid-week
MONDAY: It will be a sunny start to the day across Mid-Missouri, but with an approaching cold front clouds will be on the increase. Temperatures will start off in the upper 60s. Thanks to the increasing clouds, high temperatures will be a tad cooler in the upper 80s. It will still be a humid afternoon though as winds out of the south under 10 mph will maintain dewpoints in the mid 60s. This will keep heat indices approaching the lower 90s through the afternoon hours. By the evening, there is a chance we could see a few isolated showers and storms as the front approaches.
TONIGHT: It will remain partly cloudy and mild tonight as lows drop into the mid 60s. There is a very slight chance for a few isolated showers overnight as winds remain light out of the SE. Most areas will remain dry.
EXTENDED: The best chance for rain and storms arrives Tuesday as a strong cold front moves through. As the upper level flow becomes more zonal, we’ll see the bulk of the energy to our north. This will limit rain we’ll see as we head into Tuesday, with most locations staying dry. The best chance for some isolated storms is Tuesday afternoon. What will be noticeable is the temperature drop behind the cold front. Temperatures will drop into the lower 80s Tuesday and mid 70s Wednesday, with nights cooling into the 50s. The cooler, seasonal weather will last through the end of next week and weekend. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
