Mild night across Mid-Missouri, with increasing showers through the workweek
TONIGHT: Expect another warm, muggy night under mostly clear skies. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 60s with light winds out of the southeast up to 7 mph.
MONDAY: It will be a sunny start to the day across Mid-Missouri, but with an approaching cold front clouds will be on the increase. Thanks to the increasing clouds, temperatures will be a hare degree cooler in the upper 80s. It will still be a humid afternoon though as winds out of the south under 10 mph will maintain dewpoints in the mid 60s. This will keep heat indices in the lower 90s through the afternoon hours. By the evening, there is a chance we could see a few isolated showers and storms primarily for those along and west of Hwy 63.
EXTENDED: The best chance for rain and storms arrives Tuesday as a strong cold front moves through. As the upper level flow becomes more zonal, we’ll see the bulk of the energy to our north. This will limit just how much rain we’ll see as we head into Tuesday, with most locations staying dry. What will be noticeable though is the temperature drop behind the cold front. Temperatures will drop into the lower 80s Tuesday and mid 70s Wednesday, with nights cooling into the 50s. The cooler, seasonal weather will last through the end of next week and weekend.
