Hot and humid weather sticks around through Sunday

TONIGHT: It will be another warm and muggy night with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s. Winds will remain out of the southeast under 9 mph. Clear skies are expected through the evening along with humid conditions.

SUNDAY: It will be another sunny and hot start to the day for your Sunday. Thanks to southerly winds, a departing upper level ridge, and a weak upper level disturbance, we’ll see more in the way of clouds through the day. As the weak upper level disturbance rounds the western periphery of the ridge, we’re likely to see some isolated nonsevere storms through the afternoon hours Sunday. Most locations will stay dry and hot though, as highs will top out in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Winds through the day will be out of the south under 10 mph.

EXTENDED: Heading into the work week, temperatures are still above average, reaching the upper 80s Monday. Spotty storms are possible Monday mainly west of HWY 63 in the afternoon with the chance increasing Monday night into Tuesday as a strong cold front moves through. As the upper level flow becomes more zonal, we’ll see the bulk of the energy to our north. This will imit just how much rain we’ll see as we head into Tuesday, with more locations staying dry than seeing rain. What will be noticeable though is the temperature drop behind the cold front. Temperatures will drop into the lower 80s Tuesday and mid 70s Wednesday, with nights cooling into the 50s. The cooler, seasonal weather will last through the end of next week and weekend.
