Camden County man accused of shooting at deputy, charged with assault
A Camden County man has been charged with armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and assault after allegedly firing at a sheriff’s deputy.
According to law enforcement, a Camden County deputy responded to a home on Red Barn Road in Osage Beach on Wednesday night. The call was allegedly about a 13-year-old girl who ran away. Deputies say she ran into the woods before they arrived.
While the deputy was walking, he called out for the girl and identified himself as an officer. While looking for her, the deputy said he heard a gunshot coming from a home nearby.
The deputy said he continued to identify himself and as he was going back to his car for cover and assistance, another gunshot came in the direction of the deputy.
The deputy said he saw a man, later identified as Bradford Prugh, standing in the doorway of the residence where the gunshots were coming from holding a handgun.
The deputy said he continued to identify himself as a Camden County deputy and told the man to drop the gun.
Additional deputies arrived and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The deputy was not hurt.
Prugh is being held in the Camden County Adult Detention Center on a cash only bond of $150,000.
