Two women charged in connection to July robbery

UPDATE: Tierra McClain was booked in the Boone County jail Friday night. She has since bonded out.

A Columbia woman has been arrested and charged with robbery after police say she attacked a woman walking in downtown Columbia.

According to court records, Fernesha Gregory knocked the victim to the ground in the early morning of July 9. The victim said she was walking across Broadway when the assault happened. The victim said her phone and debit card were taken.

According to police, Gregory used the victim’s debit card to fill up three cars at a gas station in town, spending about $75 total. They say she also tried to withdraw money from an ATM but the transactions were denied.

Police said they were able to use surveillance video from the gas station and ATM to identify Gregory, with the help of the patterned leggings she was wearing.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Gregory early Thursday morning. She was taken to the Boone County Jail and has since bonded out. Court records don’t indicate her next scheduled appearance.

The other woman involved, Tierra McClain, is also charged with robbery for the July attack. According to court records, there is a warrant for her arrest.
