Columbia Parks and Recreation taking steps to prevent future copper thefts
Columbia Parks and Recreation is looking into how to prevent future copper thefts at Columbia parks.
Columbia police confirm they are looking into more than six copper thefts since March.
A spokesperson for Parks and Recreation said crews recently installed additional locking mechanism meters. The locks are meant to prevent people from accessing the copper.
Police said they have not made any arrests yet, but Crimestoppers is offering up to $400 for tips leading to an arrest.
