Woman charged with endangering the welfare of a child after crash causes serious injury to baby

A Fulton woman, Lisa Luna, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly speeding down a gravel road and crashing into several trees.

According to the probable cause statement, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to County Road 311 on Aug. 9 for reports of a one-vehicle, serious injury crash.

Troopers said when they arrived on scene, they saw a Dodge pickup crashed into a bunch of trees.

Troopers said they discovered Luna was the driver and the passenger, a 1-year-old boy, had sustained serious injuries.

Luna admitted that she did not have a valid driver’s license and was going well over the speed limit on the gravel road, troopers stated.

Troopers noted an odor of intoxicants coming from Luna, who admitted she had consumed alcohol prior to the crash.

Troopers said they asked Luna to give a sample of her breath into a portable breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol content of .074 percent. Luna also gave them a sample of her blood for further testing which was sent away for a chemical analysis.

Luna is also facing possible charges of operating a vehicle on highway without a valid license, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner and assault.
