Chase through Columbia ends with an arrest, search for the driver

UPDATE: 8:45 a.m.: Boone County deputies arrested one person after an early morning chase through Columbia.

According to BCSD, the chase started at a gas station on Providence and Nebraska Avenue after a traffic stop.

The passenger, Racheal Warren, had a failure to appear warrant.

The chase ended on West Brandon Lane near Stadium Boulevard.

The driver got out of the car and ran from officers toward the Flat Branch Creek and MKT Trail. Deputies were not able to find him, however they say they know the man they are looking for.

ORIGINAL STORY: A chase that took multiple law enforcement agencies throughout Columbia ended at a creek early Thursday morning.

ABC 17 News first heard reports of the chase around 12:20 a.m. and saw multiple police cruisers circling the area of Providence Road and Business Loop.

Speeds reached up to 60 mph through some neighborhoods.

The chase came to a halt along Flat Branch Creek and the MKT Trail.

The Columbia Police Department, Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol were all on scene.

Deputies told ABC 17 News they were still gathering information and could not confirm whether or not a suspect or suspects had been taken into custody or were still on the run.

They also said they could not confirm who they had been looking for at this time.

ABC 17 News will update this story as we continue to get new information.
