Cole County man charged with assault, property damage over Pokmon Go game
A Cole County man has been charged with first degree property damage and fourth degree assault after grabbing and yelling at a man who was playing Pokemon Go.
The incident happened on Aug. 11 of 2017 on 4205 Horner Rd. Kendall Kell approach Ronny Ruediger’s vehicle on foot, reached through the driver side window and grabbed Ruediger’s shirt. Kell yelled at Ruediger and tried to open the door of the vehicle.
Kell kicked the vehicle as Ruediger drove away, causing $1,432.55 in damage.
Kell has a criminal history, including two property damage convictions from 2007 and a domestic assault conviction from 2012.
According to the probable cause statement, there have been three other reports of a man who matched the description of Kell attacking people on Horner Rd. over Pokemon Go.
