Summer is back for the weekend
TODAY: Sunshine and warmth will headline Thursday, as southerly winds and a building ridge will warm us into the upper 80s. Thanks to low humidity, heat indices will only approach 90 degrees through the afternoon hours. Winds throughout the day will remain out of the south under 10 mph.
TONIGHT: Temperatures will drop into the lower 60s through the overnight hours under mostly clear skies. There will be a light breeze out of the southeast under 6 mph.
EXTENDED: It will feel more like summer as a southerly breeze and mostly sunny skies bring temperatures up into to near 90 degrees on Friday and Saturday. Friday evening will be warm for SportsZone Football Friday as temperatures start off in the mid 80s, only dropping to near 80 by 9 PM with mostly clear skies. It will feel slightly more humid as dew points climb into the low to mid 60s through the weekend. The Tigers will have hot weather for the start of the game Saturday with temperatures near 90 at 3 PM kickoff and will stay in the 80s through the game. Winds will remain light out of the south under 8 mph. Late Saturday night into Sunday morning there is a chance of thunderstorms, mainly along and north of I-70. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s on Sunday and spot storms will be possible again Sunday afternoon. As a weak warm front slowly moves through, we’ll see continued, more widespread storm chances through Tuesday as temperatures reach into the low to mid 80s to start the work week.
