Attorney General Josh Hawley announces millions recovered from Medicaid fraud

Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley announced Wednesday his office recovered more than $2.6 million in fraudulent Medicaid payments in the first six months of 2017.

Hawley worked with other state attorney generals, the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units, and the U.S. Attorney’s office to reach settlement agreements with six health care providers.

“Medicaid fraud will not be tolerated in Missouri,” Hawley stated. “My office is firm in its commitment to protect tax payer money and ensure that it is used properly.”

Hawley encourages those who suspect Medicaid fraud to report it to his office. Those who do so may be entitled to 10 percent of any Medicaid fraud money recovered in a civil suit resulting from their tip.

To report suspected fraud call 800-286-3932.
