Special prosecutor appointed in summer 2021 shooting at Lake of the Ozarks case

LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

A special prosecutor has been appointed in a case involving a summer 2021 shooting at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Tonka Ponder has been charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in a shooting that left one man dead and four injured.

Daniel Kurtzeborn has been charged with illegal gun possession for that same incident.

On Wednesday, the court-appointed both of them special prosecutors.

A special prosecutor is allowed to investigate and prosecute in a particular case.
