New Missouri Congressional map puts Whiteman Air Force Base and Fort Leonard Wood in the 4th district

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The new Missouri Congressional District map puts both Whiteman Air Force Base and Fort Leonard Wood in the new 4th district.

This is Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler's district.

She is hoping to move on to represent Missouri in the US senate but she said she's honored to have represented two military bases.

"I was pleased to see that the Senate passed a new math that does include both military bases in the same district. It's been my honor to serve and represent Whiteman Air Force Base in Fort Leonard Wood and to be a member on the Armed Services Committee. I think there's no higher duty that we have than to provide for the common defense. And I think it enhances the chance that the next person that follows me will be able to sit on the House Armed Services Committee since they will be represented to major basis. There's never any guarantee but it certainly will increase that opportunity," Rep. Hartzler said.
