Man falls 75 feet at Ha Ha Tonka State Park, non-life threatening injuries

On Wednesday at 2:31 p.m., the Mid-County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a technical rescue on the island at Ha Ha Tonka State Park.

Firefighters got to the scene and found a man that had fallen 75 feet down the side of the island and was injured.

Firefighters loaded the man into a stokes basket so that the patient could be carried from the island to the parking lot. The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the MCFPD Fire Chief, the man was in a very difficult to reach area of the park. He had to be carried a considerable distance to get to the ambulance and was with another hiker that called 9-1-1.
