UPDATE: Hours-long standoff in Callaway County ends with man’s death
UPDATE, 12:08 a.m.: Just after midnight, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the person involved in the standoff, Seth MacVittie, was found dead. For more information, click here.
UPDATE 5:32 p.m.: The Callaway County sheriff confirms that the subject is believed to be escaped jail inmate Seth MacVittie.
The homeowners in the area were asked to leave as an extra precaution. There is no hostage situation and authorities don’t know if MacVittie is armed, but they are treating the situation like he is armed and dangerous. Authorities don’t think there’s an immediate threat.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Callaway County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed with ABC 17 News that they are in a standoff with a barricaded subject on Primrose Lane and County Road 318 in Fulton.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol and SWAT are on scene as well.
