Stolen gun found after traffic stop

A Columbia man has been arrested, accused of buying a stolen gun.

Tyler Loyd, 18, was arrested on Vandiver Drive early Thursday morning.

According to police, the officer who pulled Loyd over saw a part of the gun on the passenger seat of Loyd’s car.

The weapon was run through the MULES computer system, which showed the gun was reported stolen in May.

Police say Loyd admitted to buying the gun earlier this week.

He was arrested for receiving stolen property.
