UPDATE: Two women arrested after multi-county chase ends in Warren County

UPDATE: The Boone County Sheriff’s Department has identified two women arrested in a multi-county chase Wednesday night.

Samantha Rachels, 23, from St. Louis and Diane Williams, 44, from O’Fallon are in the Boone County Jail facing several possible charges.

Deputies were first alerted of a possible stolen car driving eastbound on I-70 near Stadium Boulevard in Columbia that may have been stolen from Arnold, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputies reportedly tried to pull over the driver, but the woman would not stop. The suspects then led law enforcement officials on a high-speed chase along I-70, going at least 90 miles an hour before they were stopped near the 189 mile marker.

Rachels is facing possible charges including tampering with a motor vehicle, felony resisting arrest and more. Her bond has not yet been set.

Williams is charged with tampering with a motor vehicle. Her bond has not yet been set for that charge. Williams also had several active warrants for her arrest out of St. Louis and St. Charles County.

ORIGINAL STORY: A chase that went through Boone County has ended one hour away.

ABC 17 News first heard reports of a chase before 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday night.

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they became involved in the chase briefly, before backing off when it went through Montgomery County.

Tire spikes were used in Montgomery County, damaging the vehicle’s front tires.

The pursuit ended just outside of Warrenton with two people taken into custody.

Both the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Boone County Sheriff’s Department were on scene while the vehicle was towed.

ABC 17 News is working to find out who was involved in the chase and what charges they could face.
