Burned body found in Morgan County identified

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A body found last week in a burning truck has been identified as a Morgan County man.

The man found in the truck in the Ivy Bend area of Morgan County is that of Robert Miles, 48, of Ivy Bend, the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said Thursday in a news release. Authorities found Miles' body in the back seat of the truck burned beyond recognition last Friday, the sheriff's department said. The truck was in flames when firefighters arrived.

The Boone County medical examiner identified Miles on Thursday, according to the release. The sheriff's office said foul play is not suspected but the investigation continues.
