No relief from the heat

WEDNESDAY: The Heat Advisory continues until 9 PM tonight for all mid-Mo counties besides, Phelps and Pulaski, where heat indices will reach 104 to 107 degrees. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s Wednesday. All counties need to be aware of the heat as heat indices will be in the triple digits through the majority of the state. Winds will come in from the southwest at 10-15 mph under mostly sunny skies. TONIGHT: Low temperatures will remain warm, falling into the upper 70s. Skies will remain mostly clear for most of mid-Mo with increased cloud cover to the north. Storms in far northern Missouri Wednesday night could make it as far south as HWY 24 in northeastern Missouri by Thursday morning. EXTENDED: Clouds will spread into areas north of I-70 early Thursday while areas farther south will have mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will heat up into the low to mid 90s south of I-70 Thursday and stay in the low 90s farther north with heat indices at 98-103 degrees. A cold front will move south Thursday afternoon and overnight, bringing a chance of storms. Temperatures will come down a few more degrees Friday with a better chance of storms early, before noon. High temperatures will drop into the upper 80s and heat indices in the lower 90s. We will stay near 90 for highs this weekend under mostly sunny skies.
