Mid-Missouri school districts receiving a school bus rebate

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ten million dollars in rebates from the federal government will help replace more than 400 old school buses.

The funding is directed toward school districts in underserved communities.

Eleven Missouri school districts will receive rebates as part of the national project.

In Mid-Missouri, New Franklin R-I and North Callaway R-I have been awarded $40,000 to replace two buses each.

“This funding is a vivid demonstration of how local school bus infrastructure can be upgraded, while also improving air quality in our communities,” said EPA Region 7 Administrator Meghan A. McCollister in a release.  “We encourage all Region 7 school transportation fleet supervisors to learn more about this program.”
