Woman accused of drunken driving with children in her car

A woman is charged in Cole County after witnesses say she drove drunk with three children in her car.

Police responded to 701 Eastland Dr. for an assault call May 17. Stephanie Keilholz was at the scene, and police say she seemed to be intoxicated. A witness said Keilholz had been driving, and police had her give a breath sample. Keilholz blew a .218 BAC, almost three times the legal limit.

Keilholz later admitted to being, “buzzed,” while she was driving. She had one prior conviction of driving while intoxicated on her record.

She was charged with DWI with a prior offense and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
