Late-night storms, cooler weather moves in

TONIGHT: A cold front will move in overnight sending a line of storms into Mid-Missouri reaching HWY 36 near Macon close to 4 AM and spreading south through early morning Friday. Severe weather is unlikely except for areas near HWY 36 in northern Missouri where an isolated severe storm with wind gusts to 60 mph and quarter size hail is possible. Lows will drop to near 70 overnight with southerly winds to 10 mph. FRIDAY: Showers & storms will move south through the morning and end by noon near I-44. Total rainfall amounts are expected to be anywhere from .10″ to .50″ with highest amounts north of I-70. Skies will gradually clear in the afternoon and high temperatures will reach the low 80s with northerly winds up to 15 mph.

EXTENDED: It will be cooler for the weekend with lows Friday night dipping into the upper 50s and reaching 80 Saturday under mostly sunny skies. Northerly winds will keep our humidity low this weekend and keep the unseasonably cool weather here for Sunday with high temperatures only reaching the upper 70s. We will slowly warm up early next week. At this time, no rain is expected through Tuesday. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
