Two different chances to see rain on Thursday

TODAY: Waking up temps will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s with mostly clear skies. As we head throughout the morning cloud cover will be on the increase from the south as moisture from Tropical Storm Cindy moves north. Most areas will stay dry but there is an isolated storm chance closer to I-44 in the afternoon. It is looking very hit and miss. It will be hot and humid with high temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 and heat indices as high as 95 in the afternoon. Winds will come out of the south at 6-12 mph.

TONIGHT: A cold front will be knocking on our doorstep Thursday evening, giving us a chance of rain and thunderstorms tonight into Friday morning. Current timing looks like storms will arrive after 3 AM. Temperatures will drop into the upper 60s with winds shifting out of the northwest as the front drops. EXTENDED: Friday morning the line of storms will progress to the southeast and weaken, with most out of mid-Missouri by the afternoon. The remainder of Friday will stay dry. Rainfall amounts are expected to come in .10″ to .40″. There is a marginal risk for severe weather mainly along and south of I-44 on Friday as the front pushes south and interacts with moisture from Tropical Storm Cindy. Cooler temps and less humid conditions will be behind the front. High temperatures will stay in the low to mid 80s Friday, dropping to near 80 Saturday under partly cloudy skies. Unseasonably cool weather settles in for Sunday with high temperatures only reaching the upper 70s with a northerly breeze under partly cloudy skies. We will slowly warm up early next week and at this time, no rain is expected through Tuesday. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
