Kansas City brings back former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A familiar face will return to the Kansas City sidelines for the 2022 season. On Friday, the Chiefs announced that former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy will return as a senior assistant and quarterbacks coach.

Nagy left KC back in 2018 when the Chicago Bears hired him as the next head coach. After four seasons, the Bears fired him after going one game below .500, 33-34, through his time in the windy city.

The hire comes just one day after national reports said that offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy will be staying in Kansas City for at least one more year. Nagy will fill the hole left by former Chiefs quarterback coach Mike Kafka, after he left to be the new offensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
