Tracking isolated freezing drizzle tonight, warmer Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with patchy freezing drizzle causing a slick glaze of ice on untreated areas. Lows in the mid-upper teens.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the lower 30s.

EXTENDED: Roads that are treated should fare well overnight, but patchy freezing drizzle will be possible through late this evening with low clouds hanging around. Clouds gradually exit tomorrow, with temperatures starting out in the teens in the morning. There could be some isolated slick spots, especially in residential areas and parking lots. Tomorrow afternoon looks much better as we get to near freezing during the day with plenty of sunshine. That should send road surface temperatures up well above freezing. The weekend looks great with highs in the 40s on Saturday, topping out in the low 50s on Sunday. The jet stream lifts to our north next week, getting our temperatures above average in the 50s through at least Wednesday. Late in the week we'll see a flip to more southwest upper flow, meaning we could end the week with precipitation. Right now that looks like rain by Friday or Saturday of next week.
