Suspect surrenders after hours-long Moberly standoff

UPDATE: The suspects name in the standoff was Mathew Alan Eads.

The Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney filed formal charges against Eads yesterday.

His charges include: Felony Assault in the 1st degree or attempt, felony of armed criminal action, and more.

Eads bond was set at $40,000.

UPDATE 11:24 A.M.: ABC 17 News is on scene, and has seen the suspect surrender to authorities. Moberly police confirm the suspect is in custody. They are not releasing his name at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY: Right now a section of Moberly road is shut down after a shooting ended in an active standoff situation.

Early Wednesday morning Moberly police responded to a shooting.

Police say no one was injured, but the shooter has now barricaded himself inside a house on McKinley street.

SWAT teams, Randolph County Sheriffs Department and Moberly police are on scene and crime scene tape is up to keep people out of the area.

Houses near the scene were also evacuated for safety.

ABC 17 News is on the scene working to find out what led up to the shooting and who is barricaded in the house right now. We’ll update this story as we learn more.
