Millersburg wastewater treatment project moves forward

A more than $2 million wastewater treatment proposal in Millersburg was up for public discussion on Wednesday afternoon.

The Callaway County Health Department and Callaway County Commission met with residents at the Millersburg Fire Station to talk about a sewer study.

It would address septic issues in the Cedar Creek watershed area.

County leaders hope to learn more from the public about interest in the proposal that would pump 70,000 gallons of wastewater each day.

Callaway County Commissioners must now decide whether or not the proposal should become a ballot issue.

If approved, county leaders hope to break ground on the water treatment district by fall 2018.
