Man charged with DWI after crash in Cole County sent two to hospital

A man was charged with two counts of DWI, careless and reckless driving, not wearing a seatbelt and having no insurance on Saturday after crashing into two other vehicles in Cole County.

Brennan Nichols was driving a Chevrolet Camaro and crashed into a Ford Focus and Dodge Dart.

Nichols passenger and the driver of the Ford were both taken to the hospital for moderate injuries.

Nichols told officers that he had been drinking in St. Louis and at an Applebee’s right before the crash. He gave off many signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes, swaying, smelling of alcohol and slurring of his words. Nichols was also moderately injured in the crash.
