Memorial Day weekend says goodbye to rain

After Saturday storms ripped through Missouri with areas south of I-70 primarily receiving the brunt of the severe weather, calmer conditions are forecast to persist for the rest of the holiday weekend.

A low pressure system with an accompanying warm and cold front were the culprits for the severe weather outbreak, as well as several other specific atmospheric ingredients necessary for severe weather.

The low pressure will continue to move off to the east, allowing high pressure to move in behind.

This will allowing ridging to take place in Mid-Missouri. Cooler and drier northwesterly winds will fill in, stabilizing our atmosphere, giving us those beautiful blue skies and sunshine.

With these gorgeous weather conditions in place, now we can enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend. Temperatures will be warm enough to enjoy some lake or pool time, as well as taking a trip out to your favorite park.

If you are headed out to a natural area, definitely make sure to always travel with a buddy and pack plenty of water.
