Local wrestlers bring home state championship hardware

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The MSHSAA Wrestling State Championships wrapped up on Saturday night and several Mid-Missouri wrestlers found a spot on the podium.

In class one action, the Centralia Panthers came away with a second place team trophy, just 19 points behind the first place finisher. Marceline's team also ended up in the top ten, with Mason Barnett getting the group's highest finish in second place at 170 pounds.

  • 106 weight class: 3rd place Marceline's Drew Griffin, 5th place Centralia's Bryson Dubes
  • 113 weight class: 2nd place Fatima's Cody Strope, 4th place Centralia's Weston Ward
  • 120 weight class: 1st place Centralia's Brayden Dubes, 5th place Versailles' Kannen Wilson
  • 126 weight class: 3rd place North Callaway's Lane Kimbley, 4th place Brookfield's Gambal Staddie, 6th place Marceline's Canaan Wright
  • 132 weight class: 5th place Centralia's Jesse Shannon
  • 138 weight class: 3rd place Marceline's Connor Quinn, 6th place North Callaway's Riley Humphrey
  • 145 weight class: 1st place Centralia's Kyden Wilkerson, 4th place Brookfield's Colton Parn, 6th place Marceline's Jace Bixenman
  • 160 weight class: 1st place Centralia's Brayden Shelton, 6th place Versailles' Kyle Flieger
  • 170 weight class: 1st place Brookfield's Jaden Abongo, 2nd place Marceline's Mason Barnett, 3rd place Tipton's Christian Whisler
  • 220 weight class: 6th place Versailles' Tristin Gavette
  • 285 weight class: 2nd place Centralia's Seth Hasekamp
