Icy conditions cause crash, sends one person to the hospital

PULASKI, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a car lost control due to icy conditions, flipping and striking a tree in the process.

The crash, happened on Highway Z in Pulaski just after 9:00 p.m., according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The vehicle lost control before crossing the median and traveling off of the left side of the road, eventually overturning and hitting a tree.

The driver, Demetrius Watts was flown to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

Watts was not wearing his seatbelt, at the time of the crash.
