On and off rain chances for the first half of the work week

Monday morning will be a dry commute, but on the return home you can expect some light rain showers. Throughout the morning we will see clouds on the increase. By noon, northwestern mid-Missouri will see an increasing chance of light rain showers. Showers will become more widespread by the 3 PM, but remaining light to moderate. Monday temperatures will remain just slightly below average, in the lower 70s.

As we head into Tuesday a cold front will be dropping from the northwest. Monday night a more well defined line of showers will develop ahead of the cold front. This is when we can expect more moderate rainfall. No severe storms in this system, but we can expect a few rumbles of thunder.

Rain will lighten up by Tuesday evening into the overnight hours. Wednesday a slight chance of showers will remain thanks to another lower pressure system dropping into the area. Any showers on Wednesday will be light and spotty.

By the end of the day on Wednesday most of mid-Missouri can expect anywhere from .25″ to .50″ of rainfall. Isolated areas could expect up to .75″.

Through the middle of the week temperatures will be below average, in the 60s. Rainy and cool conditions will take a break on Thursday as sunshine and warmer temperatures are in the forecast!
