Boone County Comissioners to make final decision on training Callaway County’s new K9 unit

On Thursday, the Boone County Commissioners will meet to discuss Callaway County’s new K9 unit.

On the agenda is the final hearing to decide whether or not Boone County deputies will train Callaway County’s new K9 division. The decision will mean Callaway County would pay a fee for Boone County to train their dogs.

Also on the agenda is the possibility of renewing Boone County’s contract with the Boonville police K9 unit.

Deputies have been training Boonville’s K9 division for some time now, but on Thursday county commissioners will decide whether or not to extend their contract with Boonville for three more years.

The commissioners meet on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
