Boone County man to serve 17 years for assaulting woman, police officer

The Boone County court sentenced Charles Simcoe to seventeen years in prison after assaulting a woman and a law officer in 2016.

The individuakl sentences are seven years for a domestic assault charge and 10 years for the assault of a law enforcement officer. Each sentence is to run consecutive to the other.

In July 2016, Simcoe was accused of attacking a woman at her home in Sturgeon. Police said an officer arrived on scene and shot Simcoe after he pointed his gun, which later turned out to be a BB gun, at the officer.
