Jefferson City man pleads guilty in federal court to possession of a firearm used to kill victim

A Jefferson City man pleaded guilty in federal court today to illegally possessing the firearm he used to shoot and kill a man,

Paris Mark Alexander-Henderson, 27, of Jefferson City, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jefferson City police officers were called to a shooting in the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street on April 25, 2015. Alexander-Henderson later admitted to officers that he had shot the victim, Bryant Sturkey.

The gun was found in Alexander-Henderson’s residence.

Alexander-Henderson was found not guilty in the murder of Sturkey, but has a prior felony conviction of aggravated DUI.

Alexander-Henderson could face up to 10 years in federal prison without parole.
