Columbia College plans move to city council

On Thursday, Columbia College received approval from the historic preservation commission to present its master plan to city council.

The plan includes updating and expanding part of the school’s campus by building a new four-story academic and residential hall by Brown Hall among other projects.

“Getting through the city process is just really the first step we need to get over that hurdle before we go in to get trustees to approve a real construction project and our budget and our schedule,” said Cliff Jarvis, Executive Director of Plant and Facilities Operations.

A public hearing on the expansion plan will now take place at Monday night’s city council meeting.
